My name is Lauren Foster, Lauren Wilson according to my mother, and I am a married woman with a loving husband, four dogs, one cat and a pond overwhelmed with fish, tadpoles and a few frogs. During the day, I work as a safety engineer at a lab in Baltimore, making sure that the electrical products that go into homes and workplaces are safe for humans to interact with. Wasn’t that a mouthful! Let’s just say that I’m geeky. My surrounding family consists of my mother and two sisters, three brothers-in-law, a step daughter and four nieces. I love my family, and we have great times together. I am a bookworm extraordinaire. At the height of my bookreading frenzy, I could read around 150 books a year, but I’ve slowed down as I’ve gotten more fussy, and I am convinced that good novels have gotten harder to find. I grew up on Agatha Christie and Issac Asimov. Those two can be hard to top. For the last 30 years, every year in February, I have done something for Black History Month. When I started this blog, I decided to share the results of my internet searches. You can see them here. In 2011, and since then, I have come to identify myself as a writer. When my muse visits, words flow from my fingertips, and I create stories that entertain my readers, sometimes moving, sometimes funny, but always enjoyable. I post them here as well.
